![]() ![]() I am an advanced fixed wing RC’er but I’m trying to get the hang of helicopters. ![]() ![]() Sounds goofy but it really works! What plane is your first flight with? Hopefully not a P51 or EDF jet. It tricks your brain into moving the sticks the correct way. Another one I used to teach when I was instructing is that when it is coming at you, turn your body sideways to the plane so you are almost looking over your shoulder at the plane. One is when it is coming at you, you move the stick in the direction of the wingtip that is lower. It requires a DirectX 9 compatible GPU and is best experienced using a joypad with analog sticks or a R/C transmitter connected to your computer. R/C Desk Pilot runs on all Windows platforms. There are a couple of tricks you can do to help. R/C Desk pilot is a free and open source flight simulator for R/C aircraft. And yes, the “coming at you” is the biggest biter for a new pilot. I’m glad to hear you are worried about your first flight. I’ve flown RC for ever but that is what I use over the winter to keep some of the rust off. ![]()
